Weekly Golf Report

Wednesday February 21st
There was a buzz of excitement on Wednesday as ten Premier League Teams geared up for this year’s competition. A Stroke round contested by 88 women on the East was the first event.
Division 1: 1st Winnie Lavery net 70, 2nd Glenda Phillips (72), 3rd Lesley Gray (75)
Division 2: 1st Kris Briggs (72), 2nd Joyce Moresi (73), 3rd Robyn Dyson (75)
Division 3: 1st Judy McCartney (73), 2nd Judy Cook (75), 3rd Kay Sargentson on a countback (75)

The ball rundown went to 77 net.
Nearest the Pins on the 16th East: A grade Maree Ciavarella B grade Robyn Dyson C grade Marilyn Robins.
Second Shot: Kay Sargentson on the 13th.
Glenys Smith won the Super Pin on the 8th hole.
Winnie Lavery won the first round of the Silver Spoon with her excellent score of 70 net.

A nine hole round of Stableford was also played today.
Carmel Devlin was the winner with 16 points. Runner up Shirlie Jackson (15).

Saturday February 17th
Some super scores were recorded on Saturday as 34 players took part in a Stableford round on the East course. Karen Mahady was the winner with 41 points. She was closely followed by Ros Pellegrino on a countback (41). Carol Eddy was third (40).

The ball rundown went to 34.
Nearest the Pins: A grade Carol Eddy, B grade Lorraine Healey.
Marg Davison won the Super Pin on the 8th East.

Monday February 19th
Participation in Monday’s nine hole competition continues to grow with 51 golfers playing this week. A Stableford round was played on the East’s front nine.
Division 1: 1st Heather Gunstone (19), 2nd Allison Serafini (17), 3rd Leila Ritchie (17) on a countback
Division 2: 1st Di Phillips (21), 2nd Ann Young (20), 3rd Lorraine Bowman (19)

The ball rundown went to 15 points.
Nearest the Pin: Allison Serafini on the 8th
Second Shot : Vicki Shipp also on the 8th East.

Farewell Marion Brotchie

A large group of past and present golfers gathered in the Rich River Golf Club Bistro to farewell former captain Marion Brotchie. Captain Dale Haw spoke highly of Marion's contribution to ladies golf and wished her well as she relocates to Warrnambool.
